Most Residents with active Second Life accounts can log in at the Community forum pages at secondlife.com without taking any additional steps, but if you're having problems, we're here to help.
| Important Note |
| If you'd like to use a newly created Second Life account with the Community forum, it must have a unique email address in order to access the forums. This is a limitation of our forum software, but you may find it helpful to have a unique email for alternate accounts for other reasons. |
I get an error about linking accounts that prevents me from logging in.
The first time you log into the Community pages or forums with your Second Life account, you may be asked to link your account to validate it via email. This is normal for accounts that haven't used the Community forums before, but if you receive an error message, it may be because the email address on file for your account has been used by another Second Life account (typically, your alternate account).
If you've used the same email address with other accounts that have used the Second Life Community forums in the past, the system may potentially log you into your original account instead. If you're sure you'd like to use your newly created account to use the Community forums, you may wish to update your account's email address to be unique. This should permit your account to login and use the forums as normal.
If you opt to update your email address, be sure to verify your email address (Second Life KB link).
I'm not getting an error message.
