What is a chargeback?

Chargebacks, also known as disputes, are the reversal of a credit or debit card payment after a customer disputes the payment with their financial institution. 

What happens if I initiate a chargeback?

In almost all cases, we do not recommend submitting a chargeback for payments with Second Life. Rather, we encourage our Residents to reach out to our Support department. This is usually a much quicker process than dealing with your financial institution. 

That being said, if you have chargebacks in Second Life, your account will be held until the issue is resolved. 

How do I resolve a chargeback issue with Second Life?

To resolve a chargeback issue and regain access to your account, please contact the Linden Lab Account Security Team by submitting a Ticket. If you have submitted a ticket already, please wait for a response - we will be happy to help you as soon as possible!
